My friend Barb grew up dancing and has always loved dance. Her passion for the art transformed into two fantastic companies: Move Athletics and Peak Invitational Dance Competition. She decided to create a contest for dancers asking them why they loved dance. Now it wasn’t as easy as it sounds. Applicants had to provide essays, reference letters and anything else to prove why dance was number one in their lives. She received hundreds of applications, but could only choose one winner for the scholarship award. The grand prize included a multitude of wonderful things including head-shots by yours truly Shortly after the winner was announced, I received an email from a very happy, yet humble young lady. We conversed back and forth for a while and finally set up a date to meet in Yaletown.
When I met Dominique I was amazed by her maturity and beauty. She is still a high-school student, but I would never know based on how eloquent she is. She was still on cloud nine about the fact that she won and told me she had noooo idea she was going to win. We had a lot of fun chatting and hanging out downtown. I asked her if she was a model and she said “no”. Hello?!!?!??! Look at how much the camera loves her! :) Her beauty is obvious on the inside as well. Her modesty and love for dance/teaching/singing/playing the guitar/family & friends was beyond evident!!!! Barb couldn’t have chosen a better winner
Thanks for the fun afternoon, Dominique. It was super hard for me to decide which pix to post! You are a total star and I wish you nothing but the best in everything you do!
